NOAA Issues New Arctic Nautical Chart 17/05/2013
 NOAA Office of Coast Survey has released a new nautical chart for the Arctic, which will help mariners navigate the Bering Strait. Chart 16190 (Bering Strait North) incorporates precise depth measurements acquired recently by NOAA Ship Fairweather hydrographic surveys. The equivalent NOAA electronic navigational charts (NOAA ENC) for 16190 will be available this summer. Watch for US4AK8D (Bering Strait North), and US5AK8D (Little Diomede Island).

50-vessel China Shipping Group ECDIS Deal 15/05/2013
 PC Maritime’s Navmaster ECDIS has been chosen by China Shipping Group to be fitted to 50 newbuild bulk carriers. This large ECDIS fleet contract was negotiated by Bogerd Martin NV’s subsidiary company, Bogerd Martin China, based in Shanghai. »» 0 comment(s)

Quality Maritime Training (QMT) of St. Petersburg, Florida has partnered with Educational Systems and Technologies on the River and the Sea; STORM Ltd., to provide STORM's marine simulators, computer based training (CBT) programmes and crew knowledge assessment systems to U.S. mariners. 
Just one month away, Nor-Shipping is sold out. At the heart of the weeklong, industry-wide event is the exhibition, showcasing 22,200 square metres of the best and latest in maritime technology, services and solutions. Nor-Shipping will be held from 4 to 7 June 2013 in Oslo, Norway.

Safebridge, the Internet-based simulation training specialist, has now released its E-learning courseware for training and certification on the new ECDISPILOT Basic and Platinum models. Courseware development for Chartpilot and Multipilot models is also well advanced. 
Furuno has announced that the type-specific ECDIS training programme for the new ECDIS FMD-3200/FMD-3300 is now available at Furuno's INS Training Centre Singapore. The new training programme has been developed by INSTC Denmark. The programme is to be strictly in line with STCW and ISM Codes as well as currently known requirements from various flag states and other stakeholders.
